Obama cancels meetings with Putin amid tensions
President Obama is canceling plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow next month ? a rare diplomatic snub. The move is retribution for Russia's decision to grant temporary asylum to NSA leaker Edward Snowden. It also reflects growing U.S. frustration with Russia on several other issues, including missile defense and human rights. Kristin Davis, a self-described "ex-madam" who claims she supplied fellow city comptroller candidate Eliot Spitzer with escorts several years ago, is facing charges of illegally distributing prescription drugs. Samsung Electronics Co. has applied for U.S. and South Korean trademarks for a watch that connects to the Internet. Samsung described "Samsung Galaxy Gear" as a wearable digital electronic device in the form of a wristwatch and will be able to make and receive phone calls, as well as send messages and emails.
