After Space Shuttle: What's Next For NASA?

thank you NASA, thanks to all the people and workers and legends who gave their sweat, tears blood and lives for humanity, so we can achieve new horizons and build more dreams, your contribution over the short amount of time is priceless ! banks have claimed over 800 bil in the past couple of years to save them from bankruptcy, 196 bil for the past 60 years to NASA is a fraction in comparison

Why are people scratching there heads , like .....whats next.. duh... space is the final frontier.
We are walking around like primitive monkeys , with our tools ...asking ourselves... what do we do next....seriously?

We need to set our differences behind us. develope an international space program.
our poles are shifting, and our orbit probably is too.

This planet is going to see massive solar activity soon, with solar flares.
Our ultimate goal is to get away from this planet and seek alternate resources / life on another planet.
Mathmatically speaking....we cannot be the only ones in the universe.

My question is....WHY. Why would we put people on mars, let alone in space when were supposed to stay on Earth?
