Only in Florida can you be found not guilty for killing your daughter but sent to prison for trash in your yard!
    • MadMaxx 3 mths ago
I agree... the difference? The Judge sent this guy to jail, 12 people not smart enough to get out of jury duty set the egg donor free!
    • cs 3 mths ago
This is the way our commie councilman work, we need a better representative instead of giving the power to these power-hungry freaks! The property was fenced in, what gives these bastards the right to screw this guy over? I wish these zoning freaks would get challenged via the supreme cout, this is totally un constitutional!
    • 1 3 mths ago
No trial for jail time when on pro! That is the problem. Probation makes you guilty without question or cause.
  • Centurion of Evil  •  3 mths ago
The average murderer gets 14 years. This guy gets a year. For junk. Unreal.
    • Jeff 3 mths ago
The average sentence for murder is 14 years??? I think you have been misinformed
    • Rebecca 3 mths ago
      I agree with Jeff.

I am not certain, but I think I ran into a figure around 1.5 years.
    • WHIT WALTMAN 3 mths ago
So if he owned 14 sloppy properties he's equivalent to a Murderer in the eyes of the Law. SCARY.

40 years ago it was a Sitcom: Sanford and Son. Today it's a jail sentence.
    • LibertyLover 3 mths ago

  • Sage  •  3 mths ago
The $40,000/yr or so that it typically costs to incarcerate a year should be deducted from the judge's salary AFTER taxes.
    • Dave 3 mths ago
Why dipshit. You probably wouldn't want that dump next to you
    • Kevon 3 mths ago
True don't want the dump near me so clean it up but that can't be done while in jail. The tax money to keep maintenance in prison (food, health, medical) could be use to clean up.

Who's with me? No more videos! We want to read!
  • Paul C  •  Cupertino, California  •  3 mths ago
Wow...now there's a real serious crime! Leaving junk in your yard! Yeah, we really need to put people in prison for things like that & not clutter up the cells with minor offenses, like murder, rape & robbery...

Further proof that this country has its head up its arse, priority-wise...
  • GravitySuks  •  3 mths ago
If this stuff was there for a while which it sounds like,,, then yeah he's right, it's his yard. I may not like it, you may not like it, but he might not like our bird bath collection, what then? Gov. tells you you don't or can't own the minerals in the land you supposedly own. You find sunken treasure out in the ocean, they say it's theirs not yours. You buy land they tax you. After they tax you, you spend your already taxed income to make it nicer and more comfortable for you,,,they tax you more. You don't pay the tax, they take it away. Land of the free,,, uh huh,, my #$%$

I moved to rural Texas, outside city limits and without a homeowner's association, specifically so I can go with my property what I want to.

  • RT  •  3 mths ago
Unless he's got something that poses a health risk to the public this shouldn't be happening. America is not free...freedom means a person can do something other people don't like so long as he's not harming anyone.
  • Spot  •  3 mths ago
How can he clean up his yard if he is in jail?

    the Dude abides
  • that would be thajeeper.. ...  •  3 mths ago
This is absolutely bizarre and beyond ridiculous. Could you imagine this: Hey, dude! Whatcha in for? Me, I'm in for murder, rape, burglary.. "I'm in for keeping a junky yard."
Or how about this one for the jurisdiction and judge that gave him the year in prison/jail: Man's family sues for 100 million when man sent to prison for a year due to a junky yard gets stabbed to death.
Stories like this illustrate exactly what is wrong with our justice system. It's not the killer that gets 10 years, it's the innocent off the street that gets a year for a junky yard. I don't care if he had sewage waist deep in his yard, this is beyond stupid.
  • dale  •  3 mths ago
make him put a privacy fence and leave him alone
  • Marion  •  Palatka, Florida  •  3 mths ago
the truth of the matter is. we as a people dont own anything especial land. What ever you by you have to pay for for the rest of your life.Just like if you go and buy 5 acres of land cash money no payments you still have to pay the government every year for your own property now were does that make any sense
  • Batman  •  Phoenix, Arizona  •  3 mths ago
Whats the problem? If he wants to live like that and keep all that crap on his land he has every right to do so. I cant believe he went to jail for keeping his own stuff on his own land.
