We had this happen with a simple $ 100 ...told the teller she put in too much money to our account and she got really defensive over it. Had to actually sit and wait for a bank manager to show him the error and have it taken care of.

You are supposed to give it back. It's not yours. Remember it's not the banks either, and belongs to another customer.

Go to a country with no extradition. Where are the felony charges for the CEO's, The Presidents of the Banks, The VP's and the others that have screwed the country out of money. Its the banks fault they shouldl be made to eat THEIR MISTAKE. Then they will be more careful.

He deserves to go to jail. Where did he think the money came from? He knew it wasn't his.

Bail out the banks with tax payer money when they screw up. No penalty for them. If the banks make a mistake and give away money - taxpayer still responsible for their screw up. Must be nice to be a bank.

That stupid kid is gonna look real good in jail cell, where he will have the opportunity to discover his feminine side.

He is being charged with receiving stolen property... So is the bank being charged with giving stolen property? How can you receive stolen property without being given stolen property? No doubt the kid shouldn't have spent the money. And he should have to pay it back similar to paying back a loan. But he didn't receive something that was stolen, and he didn't steal. He simply spent what was given to him.

    1) With media reporting this, how does he expect to find meaningful employment?
    2) Maybe his mom needs to be charged also for not teaching him right from wrong.

Banks are not held accountable any longer as they do not have to carry insurance for their mistakes. The banks and their employees should be held accountable for not acceptance testing their software before it is released. This is all because of the dereleguation of banking.
