Plane Passenger Captures Aerial View of SpaceX Launch

SpaceX successfully launched 10 satellites into orbit on a Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California on Saturday, January 14.

The launch marked a comeback for the billionaire founder of SpaceX, Elon Musk, the New York Times reported.

The company had paused operations after a Falcon 9 caught fire and exploded on a launchpad in Florida in September 2016, destroying the rocket and its cargo, a $200 million satellite leased by Facebook.

Saturday’s launch was captured in footage recorded by Van Espahbodi while flying in an aircraft nearby. The rocket landed successfully on a platform in the Pacific Ocean shortly after the launch. Credit: Twitter/Van Espahbodi via Storyful
