This didn't leave marine experts stunned, for God's sake. As little as 100 years ago lobsters routinely grew to over five feet long. People considered them garbage animals and didn't eat them. Nowadays NO lobster reaches maturity - they're scooped up for restaurants before any of them become adults. This is the stupidest, most historically inept science story I've ever read in my life.

Is it possible that all lobsters grow the size of the captured? in which case you do not catch or eat them before.
Or cantaminantes discharges into the bay, which are hidden from the eyes of the common man ... Could make them grow so much?.
