Prosecutor: Seattle Campus Shooter Went Off Meds
According to King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg, Seattle campus shooter Aaron Ybarra wrote the day of the shooting,"I just want people to die, and I'm gonna die with them!" Satterberg released new details of the allegations as he filed charges of first-degree murder, attempted murder and assault against Ybarra. The prosecution is seeking a sentence of life in prison. Authorities say Ybarra has been held without bail and is on suicide watch at the county jail since a student pepper-sprayed him and ended the rampage Thursday at Seattle Pacific University.

Libya Warns U.N. Council Of Possible Slide Into Civil War
Libya warned the U.N. Security Council on Wednesday that the chaotic North African state could descend into full-scale civil war if heavily armed warring factions are not disarmed. The 15-nation council met to discuss Libya days after its parliament, which was replaced in an election in June, reconvened and chose an Islamist-backed deputy as the new prime minister. That left the country with two rival leaders and assemblies, each backed by armed factions. Libya's United Nations Ambassador Ibrahim Dabbashi told the council, "The situation in Libya is complicated. Yet the situation since the 13th of July has become even more complicated and the situation might unravel into a full-blown civil war if we're not very careful and wise in our actions." Libya's government has called for a U.N. peacekeeping force to be deployed to help disarm militant groups and restore stability. But council diplomats say the situation is too volatile for peacekeepers.

Fighter Jet Crashes In Virginia
A Massachusetts Air National Guard F-15C fighter crashed and burned Wednesday morning in Virginia's Shenandoah Valley, shortly after the pilot reported an emergency. Information on this incident is developing rapidly and we are not going to speculate on what occurred or the status of the pilot, said James Keefe, 104th Fighter Wing Commander. "We are hopeful that the pilot is OK, and the pilot will be in our thoughts and prayers as the events of this incident unfold." The plane was en route from Massachusetts to New Orleans for a system upgrade when it went down with a bang that was heard for miles in Deerfield, Va. Garrett Beck, who works on a farm a mile from the crash site, said he heard two booms and ran outside to see if a tire on a truck had blown.
