According to OpenSignal’s crowd sourced data from the second half of 2013, T-Mobile provides the fastest LTE speeds of any carrier in the United States. Using the most recent data, OpenSignal puts T-Mobile above AT&T , Verizon and Sprint . Collecting data from 6 million users, OpenSignal focused on the download speeds and the time spent with access to an LTE network.
Vegas' Storied Sahara Casino Reborn, Transformed
The Moroccan-themed Sahara casino that once hosted the Rat Pack and the Beatles is opening as the SLS Las Vegas after a complete transformation. The property will officially welcome the public at the stroke of midnight, after a party Friday night that includes rapper Iggy Azalea and a fireworks show. SLS Las Vegas' debut marks the first major resort opening since The Cosmopolitan's in late 2010, and it is likely the last one to open for another four years or so. An Asian-themed resort and an open-air festival venue are in the works nearby.
Valeant, Ackman To Submit Allergan Special Meeting Request-CNBC
Sources told CNBC television, Valeant Pharmaceuticals and Pershing Square Capital Management will submit a request on Friday to Allergan for a special shareholders meeting. Allergan's corporate bylaws require Valeant and Pershing Square to have more than 25 percent of shareholders' votes in favor of holding the meeting. Citing the sources, CNBC reported, they have support from more than 30 percent. Allergan is fighting Valeant and Pershing Square's $49 billion offer to buy the company. They want to call a meeting to vote out directors and open discussions on the deal. Pershing Square owns nearly 10 percent of Allergan.

Authorities suspect around 130 people resident in Austria - most of them foreign nationals - have allied themselves with Islamist militants fighting abroad, officials in Vienna said on Friday, raising their estimate by nearly a third. Public safety director Konrad Kogler told a news conference the 130 figure included "people actively participating in combat as well as ones who have returned to Austria, because both groups of people are relevant for us". The subject is at the top of the news agenda in the neutral Alpine republic after police arrested nine people this week who prosecutors said were believed to be on their way to Syria to join the fighting. They have not given any more details about the suspects' destination or said what forces they might have joined. Interior Minister Johanna Mikl-Leitner said support for radical Islamists was on the rise in Austria and called for closer European cooperation to address the issue.

Latvia’s defense minister said on Friday the Baltic states and Poland must invest in military infrastructure so they can host troops from other NATO nations for training or in case of crisis. Russia’s annexation of Crimea and the conflict in eastern Ukraine have alarmed Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania – like Ukraine, former Soviet republics with Russian-speaking minorities. Germany’s Angela Merkel, during a short visit to Latvia on Monday, pledged NATO would defend the Baltic states, although it would not send permanent combat troops. Latvia and Lithuania spend respectively just 0.9 and 0.8 percent of GDP on defense but have pledged to meet the alliance's target of 2.0 percent by 2020.
