Band Aid organizer Bob Geldof has launched the Band Aid Challenge. Mimicking the ice bucket challenge of earlier this year, it involves carrying out a task and nominating three others to do the same. This time though, instead of splashing water over your head, nominees are asked to sing Bono’s line from the Band Aid 30 re-release of Do They Know It’s Christmas – “Well tonight we’re reaching out and touching you.”

Recording the video announcement of the challenge on a train, Geldof has nominated The Wire actor Dominic West, Homeland’s Damien Lewis and movie actor Richard E. Grant to take the challenge first.

Those taking part in the challenge are asked to donate £10 to Band Aid 30.com or to text AID to 70707 Credit: YouTube/Band Aid
