SmartHalo is a GPS unit designed specifically for the bicycle, with some additional useful features. Connecting with your smart phone, the SmartHalo app will send handy visual directional prompts to the SmartHalo display fitted to your handlebars. Also fitted on the device is a front facing light which is activated by a light sensor when dark. No need to remember to turn it off, as it senses when you’ve dismounted and will deactivate.

Another handy feature is the ability to locate your bike using the SmartHalo app, great if you’ve forgotten where you parked it. The device also works as a theft deterrent, setting off an alarm when it senses interference with the bike. This system is automatically deactivated when the device senses your smartphone is within range.

The SmartHalo Kickstarter has already well surpassed its funding goal, with many signing up for the $99 Kickstarter pack. The company expect to begin shipping units by May 2016. Credit: YouTube/SmartHalo
