Orlanda Jackson tells News 4 her 12-year-old daughter got the unexpected lesson last week in guitar class at Holman Middle School in Pattonville. (KMOV) -- A Metro East prosecutor is concerned with kids missing school and he is now going after the parents. For the first time in St. Clair County, five parents were slapped with charges after their kids missed too much school. There's no doubt it's a huge problem. After lawmakers question the IRS over the undue scrutiny the agency put on conservative groups that filed for tax-exempt status during the 2012 elections, they'll want to take action -- to hold people accountable and eventually consider legislation to amend any systemic problems that led to this kind of political discrimination. At the same time, both Democrats and Republicans are using the controversy for political fodder. Members of Congress are already questioning the IRS about the scandal behind

PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Dr. Kermit Gosnell proved a serene but solitary figure in the courtroom during his long murder trial, in contrast to the chaotic life he built as an inner-city doctor, abortion provider and father of six. Jurors who convicted him this week of killing three babies born alive at his run-down West Philadelphia clinic thought he began his career with good intentions, but then lost his way. "He started out as a good, practicing doctor. But eventually, it just became a money-generating machin
