A storm dubbed Tor, for the Norse god of thunder, began living up to its name on Friday afternoon, January 29, as severe weather warnings were issued across Norway in anticipation of high winds. In some coastal areas, the storm was predicted to develop into a hurricane, with wind gusts of up to 35 to 50 metres per second, or 78 to 111mph. This video was shot in Falkevik, southeast of Trondheim, on Norway’s coastal archipelago.

The Norwegian Meteorological Institute issued extreme weather warnings for Oppland, Hedmark, Buskerud, Hordaland, Sogn and Fjordane, Møre, Romsdal and Trøndelag.
