Strong quake hits Myanmar, at least 13 feared dead
At least 13 people are feared dead in the major earthquake that hit central Myanmar today near Mandalay, its second-biggest city. The 6.6 magnitude earthquake struck around 60 km northwest of Mandalay, the U.S Geological Survey said. Shoppers were evacuated from the Myanmar Plaza Shopping Mall in Mandalay as a precaution. Several very strong aftershocks also hit the region.
