Great Story! Lesson to be learned to all the do it yourself home Mechanics, Please use Jack Stands and a Floor Jack when lifting a car, be careful using factory jacks. If you don't know what your doing take it to a professional. Great Job Austin, your a true Hero!

And make sure you buy the correct jack stands, don't go into the auto store and buy the biggest stands you can find if you're working on a civic, get the small ones :P

I unfortunately didn't have a relationship with any of my Grandparents. Both served in WW2. These wars had mental affects on a lot of men and women. So, it was a very quiet and cold setup. However, I have seen things change greatly in the last 25-30 years. My Father has actually warmed greatly when my wife and I began having children. When I was a child, the relationship was sort of lukewarm with my Father. However, after my daughter (first child) was born, I saw great change in him and my Father-In -Law. Both my Father and my wife's Father served in Vietnam. I wonder why some of these men were able to break the quiet barrier. They were subject to great terror while serving same as my Grandparents. My Father-In-Law for instance had constant Russian subs underneath his warship the whole period he served. Once they got about 4 1/2 miles off the RI coast, that's when the war games began. My Father was a combat soldier who was almost 2 times a POW. He fought in the N. Vietnam theater and also served in Red China. It was by divine providence that he was able to out maneuver and escape twice.

Tragically my friend Steve didn't have anyone around when his jack stand collapsed and his car fell on top of him. Of all the friends I've lost, that was the saddest. Just the thought of what he must have gone though still brings a tear to my eye. RIP buddy.
