Wild Bobcat Gets Stuck In Window Blinds
Leanne Kalabis heard a noise in the basement of her Nelson, British Columbia home. Initially she thought it was a house cat, but when she and her dog went down to investigate, it turned out to be a wild bobcat. The bobcat tried to flee out a closed window and that’s when it got stuck in the blinds. Luckily, a Mountie came and saved the day using two broomsticks, some tape, and his Leatherman knife.
Wild Animals Help Make Designer Jeans
Supporters of the Kamine Zoo in Hitachi, Japan have concocted a clever plan to raise money for the struggling Zoo -- by starting a clothing label called Zoo Jeans. Currently being auctioned off for a good cause, these pants are billed as "the only jeans on earth designed by dangerous animals." They are distressed using the jaws and claws of playful and hungry lions, tigers, and bears to give their denim the popular torn-up and worn-out look. To learn more or donate to this good cause, check out the Zoo Jeans charity site: http://zoo-jeans.com/
Crystal Doorknob Starts House Fire
A fire caused thousands of dollars worth of damage to a home in London. The culprit? A crystal doorknob. According to the London Fire Brigade, the blaze was started when light from a nearby window refracted through a crystal bathroom doorknob causing a bathrobe to catch fire. Luckily, no one was inside the $2.5 million dollar home in Clapham, South London at the time. So, turn those crystal doorknobs at your own risk, people. Stay safe.
Abandoned Mall Filled With Thousands of Fish
A mall in Thailand has been taken over by fish. Bangkok’s New World Mall was shut down in 1997, and then in 1999 a fire left the 4-story building without a roof. The roofless mall accumulated years and years of rainfall, which flooded the basement and lower floors, which in turn created a horrendous breeding ground for mosquitoes. So, the mall's neighbors threw some fish into the pond to eat the mosquitoes. Now, thousands of koi and tilapia populate the 1,600 square-foot pond. It's quite the oddity to behold.

Little Girl's Sinister List Goes Viral
A little girl’s sinister list of what she’s going to do to her older brother’s stuff when he’s "gone" is going viral. The list was originally posted to Reddit with the title, “My daughter's list in case anything happens to her older brother,” but for those of you worried for the brother -- don't be -- their mother is assuring everyone that the list is a joke. Yes, believe it or not, many humorless readers and purveyors of the internet lashed out at this when it first surfaced, citing "poor parenting" leading to the young girl's wish list. However, now that we know it was meant in good fun, let's all enjoy this sibling rivalry for what it actually is: totally normal.
Baby Bear Gets Head Stuck In Cookie Jar
New Jersey environmental protection officers received the cutest call ever this week, when they met a baby bear whose head was stuck in a cookie jar. The little guy found the jar of animal crackers in Ringwood, New Jersey and got so excited to eat some animal shaped treats, but found himself in quite the predicament when he couldn't get his head out afterwards. When officers approached him, the cub got spooked and the 28-pound ball of cute ran away and got stuck again 40 feet up a tree. Don't worry, he was saved from that cookie jar and no bears were harmed!
Cheating Man Dumped in the Worst Way Possible
The morning commute is hard. Now, imagine how much harder it would be if you got dumped TWICE while commuting. That’s exactly what happened to Steve Frazer near Newcastle, England, but you probably shouldn’t feel bad for him, because it seems like he’s a two timing cheat. Thousands of people saw a giant sign on the Northbound side of the A1 freeway with Steve’s face on it that said “Steve Frazer, you’re dumped by of both your girlfriends.”
Mountain Lion Hangs Out In Shopping Center
A mountain lion was seen at 8am outside of the Ruby River steakhouse at Jordan Commons shopping center in Sandy, Utah this week. Luckily, it didn't harm anybody. The 2-year-old 100-pound big cat was first spotted by Leesha Francis, who works in an office at Jordan Commons. Authorities were eventually able to tranquilize the Mountain Lion, and while Mountain Lion sightings are pretty common in East Sandy, wildlife officials aren’t exactly sure what brought this big cat so far into the city. Do you have a theory?
