    VideoBlocks.com Launches a Photo Contest for K-12 Teachers and Educators - $1,000 Top Prize

    Hey Teachers and Educators! Submit a photo that shows how important video/media/technology is to your school or classroom, and you could win $1,000 cash to make your setup even better!

    VideoBlocks.com, a subscription-based website that provides unlimited downloading of stock video and audio, is excited to announce that it is sponsoring a photo contest for students and their advisors. The grand prize winner will receive a cash prize of $1,000, plus an unlimited subscription to Video Blocks for one year.

    The theme of the contest is “Why is technology important to you?” Teachers are asked to submit photos of their class that illustrate how technology, video and media enhance the learning environment. The photo can be a demonstration of students using technology in the classroom, or a picture showing how adding technology to the classroom can improve the students’ education opportunities. Entrants will also be asked to explain what they plan on doing with the cash prize, as well as what they would do with a year-long subscription to VideoBlocks.com.

    “We’re really excited about this contest, because we think it will be a great way for us to encourage and support the growing number of talented young media creators and their educators,” says Video Blocks CEO, Joel Holland. “We’re hoping that students and their teachers get inspired to create some unique content, and in return win a cash prize that could take their school’s media curriculum to a whole new level.”

    The contest is open to all grades K-12. An advisor, teacher or administrator must submit the entry in order to meet the eligibility requirements. All other entries will be disqualified.

    The grand prize winner will receive $1,000 for their school or classroom to put towards media and technology education, as well as a yearlong subscription to VideoBlocks (valued at $948). Second place will receive a stock footage DVD set and a year long subscription to VideoBlocks.com. Third place will receive a yearlong subscription to VideoBlocks.com.

    Teachers have until February 29, 2012 to submit their photos. Once the submission period is closed, the pictures will be published online for a public vote. The top 20 entries with the most votes will be considered “finalists” and will move on to a final judging round. Their work will be judged on creativity, its ability to be though provoking and interpretation of theme. A grand prize winner and two runners up will be announced on March 15, 2012.
