VideoShop review

VideoShop allows you to apply a wide variety of effects, filters, and transitions to your videos, whether they have been shot from within the app or not. Once your video is complete, you can save it to your camera roll, email it, or post it easily to all of the major social media websites.

Pros

Easy to learn: VideoShop manages to solve one of the major problems with video editing on the iPhone, namely that it is often difficult to see frames in the detail that you need in order to edit them effectively. Because this accessible app comes with icons that allow you to crop, add sounds, or apply filters that are easy to scroll through, it's only a matter of minutes from the moment you launch it before you can effectively edit a video with it.

Great filters and themes: Once you've added sounds or transitions to your video, the app compiles them into a single clip. You can then apply a filter or theme to the clip, and there are a ton of great built-in options to give your video the look you want.

Speedy: Whether you apply a transition or an effect or render out a finished video, the app works very fast. You spend little to no time waiting for the app to do its work, which is quite impressive for a mobile video editor.

Cons

Unappealing transitions: The transitions that you can place between frames are not as varied or professional looking as those that you see in some other video editing apps.

Bottom Line

VideoShop stands out as an extremely fun and easy-to-use piece of video editing software. Because of the limitations on transitions, though, it's better suited to creating very short videos for Vine or YouTube than for general video editing. Even so you'll find plenty of editing power in it. A creative person could spend hours enhancing and editing videos with this capable app.
