‘The View’s’ Whoopi Goldberg Questions Beverly Johnson Over Bill Cosby Allegedly Attacking Her (Video)

Model Beverly Johnson sat down with the women of “The View” on Monday to describe first-hand the evening in which she says Bill Cosby drugged and attacked her. As TheWrap previously reported, co-host Whoopi Goldberg has repeatedly stated on-air that she will not rush to judgement of Cosby despite over 20 different women accusing the comedian of rape.

“We have a good time when we come here because we can talk about anything,” Goldberg said before welcoming Johnson onstage.

Johnson went public with her allegations against Cosby on Thursday in an essay for Vanity Fair, writing that he slipped something into a cappuccino she drank while auditioning for the comedian in his home. Johnson says she knew she was drugged but was able to remain conscious and recalls calling Cosby a “motherfucker” to his face.

“I felt such a loss,” Johnson said on “The View.” She claims Cosby forcibly removed her from his home and put her in a cab, saying that afterward she felt: “such a sense of disappointment. I was devastated.”

Goldberg questioned Johnson on whether or not she told anybody about the incident and whether or not she was worried about what substance she could have been given.

“Was it such a feeling, the drugs, that you weren’t worried what it might be?” Goldberg asked. “If you know that you’ve been drugged, were you worried about what you might have ingested?”

“At that point, I was just struggling to stay conscious,” Johnson said. “So at that point, you’re not thinking about anything except for what I just told you.”

“Did you ask the doorman the next day what condition you were or did you say anything?” Goldberg asked.

“No I didn’t. I basically just put my head down and just tried to get out. This is not about Mr. Cosby. He’s just a lightning rod for a conversation about violence against women.

Johnson went on to explain that she felt the need to come forward after so many other women publicly accused Cosby of similar crimes.

“I was the one who wasn’t raped, I don’t think, but who had a lot of the experiences that a lot of the other women have had and I’m coming forward just to tell the truth,” Johnson said.

She continued: “I think what should happen is that people who have experienced sexual abuse and violence should come forward and not be afraid to speak up and speak out.”

Rosie O’Donnell, who has come out strongly against Cosby in previous episodes, thanked Johnson for coming on the show.

“By you doing so you have given every one of us a voice so we thank you,” O’Donnell said.
