The Voice Top 11 iTunes Rankings: Who's at Risk?
When the axe gets swung at the end of tonight’s The Voice Top 11 results telecast (8/7c on NBC), there’s only one coach who seems guaranteed to send all three of his or her contestants into next week’s Top 10 performance show: Yep, pour a little moonshine into your mug and raise a toast to the unbreakable Blake Shelton.

Granted, one might argue that Blake’s bro Adam Levine has more cause to celebrate — seeing how two of his proteges, Amy Vachal and Jordan Smith, cracked the Top 10 of the iTunes chart (making them eligible for the 10x multiplier bonus), but the Maroon 5 frontman’s third contender, Shelby Brown, is a distant last — putting her at serious risk of needing the Twitter Save this week.
In addition to Amy and Jordan, Blake’s country chica Emily Ann Roberts also snuck into the Top 10 — making her a certainty to advance, as well.

Falling under the “safe bets” category are Team Pharrell’s Madi Davis, Team Gwen’s Jeffery Austin and Blake’s remaining artists Barrett Baber and Zach Seabaugh — all of whom landed somewhere between No. 16 and No. 31 on iTunes at the close of voting.
That leaves four contestants who ought to be locked in their hotel rooms for the next eight hours and practicing the bejeezus out of their “Save Me” songs: Evan McKeel, last week’s Twitter Save recipient Korin Bukowski, 15-year-old Braiden Sunshine and the aforementioned Shelby Brown (who probably wouldn’t be in this position if she’d gone the predictable route and chosen Blake as her coach).
Seeing how Braiden avoided the Bottom 2 last week even after winding up dead last on iTunes, it’s clear he’s got strong support with online/app voters (who are due for visits to their otolaryngologists). I think he’ll buy himself one more week of safety, considering “True” was significantly less out of tune than his Top 12 “Renegade.” And if the kid does wind up in the Bottom 2, look for his puppy-dog eyes to give him a leg up over whoever he’s up against.
Nevertheless, the most likely outcome will find Shelby up against either Korin or Evan — and despite her dismal showing on the charts this week, I’d argue that the Alabama native’s big, booming vocal style will make her tough to beat in a head-to-head showdown. The one wild card, of course, is whether the coaches try to tip the scales in favor of Shelby’s rival (as the production hasn’t given Shelby the most flattering edit this season). But I’m going out on a limb and predicting she’s talented enough to overcome it — and send either Korin or Evan packing seconds before the screen jumps over to an all new Chicago Med.
