Volkswagen India will launch four cars in the next 15 months including the Passat GTE hybrid. The E-segment sedan will be the first hybrid car in India from VW group and will compete with the Toyota Camry hybrid. Check out the photo gallery of the new car from the Auto Expo 2016.

The Passat GTE hybrid is based on the new MQB platform, which will underpin majority of the VW group cars over the coming years.

It looks the part of being a premium sedan with the size and the light guides, DRLs, projector headlamps and LED fog lamps at the front.

This one is hybrid, and in lines with the Volkswagen Bluemotion theme, gets blue coloured detailing both to the exterior and the interior of the car.

Under the hood is the 1.4-litre TSI petrol motor tuned to deliver 156bhp, coupled with the electric motor that has an output of 115bhp.

Purely on electric, the car is capable of covering close to 50km. And if having fun is the intention, there is a GTE button that delivers 218bhp and 400Nm of torque.

The GTE trim is one of the premium ones in the VW line and it gets plenty of features including sunroof, power seats, LED instrument console and hi-tech music system.
