W.Va. colleges sharing $25M in federal grants for job-training programs for skilled workers
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Ten West Virginia schools will share $25 million in grants for programs that help train people for high-wage, high-skill jobs.
The U.S. Department of Labor Funds will go to the Community and Technical College System of West Virginia.
The biggest recipient in the system is Bridgemont Community and Technical College in Montgomery, with nearly $9 million.
That's followed by $3 million for West Virginia University at Parkersburg and nearly $2.7 million for Blue Ridge Community and Technical College in Martinsburg.
Fairmont's Pierpont Community and Technical College is getting almost $2.3 million, while five other colleges are getting more than $1 million.
The smallest grant is $862,000 to Eastern West Virginia Community and Technical College in Moorefield.
