Warehouse catches fire on Interstate 40 in Morganton

A warehouse caught fire on Highway 18 near Interstate 40 in Morganton early Wednesday morning.

Around midnight, the Burke County Fire Marshall’s Office received a call regarding a fire that had spread from a camper to the building.

Channel 9 crews could see flames and smoke coming out of the building.

Fire officials said the building was used to store antique furniture and personal items. It had previously been a business.

No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
