Watch a Barbarian Horde Glitter Bomb Bachmann's Clinic

Gay activists dressed as barbarians took over Marcus Bachmann's clinic for "reparative therapy" in Minnesota on Thursday. Armed with Lady Gaga music and fistfuls of glitter, the group led by LGBT activist Nick Espinosa filled the clinic's lobby and demanded to speak to Bachmann, husband of Congresswoman Michele Bachmann. After a staffer asked them to leave, they tossed glitter across the office and began to chanteing, "You can't pray the gay away--Baby, I was born this way!"

Both Michele and Marcus have a long and controversial history with gay rights. Michele, whose sister is openly gay, has compared the gay lifestyle to "personal bondage, personal despair, and personal enslavement." Her husband was recorded saying, "We need to understand: Barbarians need to be educated. They need to be disciplined. Just because someone feels it or thinks it doesn't mean that we are supposed to go down that road." However, he has denied that his clinic is used for therapy to turn gays straight.

The glitter bombers don't buy his explanation. “Its time for Michele Bachmann to stop running away and to take responsibility for her destructive clinic. She, of all people, should not be abusing medicare and wasting taxpayer dollars to practice quack science that endangers her patients,” Espinosa said in a statement.

Too funny, love it. I send glitter back in the envelopes to companies that send me unsolicited credit card applications.

Gay folks have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, same as anyone else. Nowhere does it say the American dream is just for straight folks. However, this crap... no. If someone throws something at me... I'm throwing punches.
      • Michael 10 mths ago
and youd go to jail and become someones punching bag....nice way of thinking.
      • Jake 10 mths ago
Yeah, just stand there at let someone assault you... great way of thinking.

Stand up for your right to defend yourself with physical violence... from glitter?

If the Bachmans are so opposed to government funding of anything then why did they accept Medicaid funds???
      • RealChange2012 10 mths ago
Maybe because it was the only way the poor misguided souls could get treatment. After all, the clinic has to stay in business and most of these people probably rely on the government for treatment of this mental disorder.
      • AdcjioaJ 10 mths ago
It's a phony unlicensed clinic, he doesn't have a psychiatry degree. He offers christian counciling. If he wants to use Jesus to help people, fine he can go work at a church but what he's really doing is scamming the government and using God's name for cover.

I believe in a better America where Homosexuals and Heterosexuals can hold hands in peace :D.... now, who wants to stop being trolls?!?
      • Kurtz 10 mths ago
Where are the Christians (as I understand the teachings of Jesus) -- the ones who don't cast the first stone? who do unto others ...? who love thy neighbor?
      • Haruka 10 mths ago
Kurtz - You are asking Christians to stop being hypocrits and practice what they preach? Geez, what are you? Some kind of pinko commie? XD
      • Kurtz 10 mths ago
But it's not what they preach. It's what Jesus preached. Listen to any religious right-wing radio station and you'll NEVER hear them preach the true words of Jesus.

If Marcus isn't gay, than Ive never seen a gay person, he talks, walks, and acts gay.
Gay-DAR goes crazy every time he's on Tv.

Did you ever notice that the people who complain the loudest are fighting demons of their own? Sounds like my State Senator in Massachusetts, Mike Rush.
      • Willie 10 mths ago
And that may be EXACTLY why he feels the way he does and tries to help OTHERS that may feel the same. Perhaps he DOES indeed have homosexual tendencies or whatever and DOES NOT WANT THEM.... It is after all our actions ... not our thoughts that make us what we are.
      • racingspoons 10 mths ago
@Willie, but when we deny who we are through our actions we have things like gay priests who get so mixed up inside that they molest children, men leaving their families after they can live the lie no more. the net gain to a society that denies it's own feelings is not worth the loss, regardless of the intention or avoidance of "sin."

I don't agree with glittering the clinic. I also believe the clinic should pay back Medicaid funds received for preaching a religious view instead of providing legitimate counseling.
      • Cranblarry 10 mths ago
As you can see, declaring what would be "legitimate counseling" is fraught with peril, because so many activists are weighing in--people with no special ability or background in determining what works. There are so many people who fervently WANT things to be a certain way, and are particularly unqualified to influence policies that affect the options of people who see things differently.
      • AdcjioaJ 10 mths ago
There's nothing inappropriate about what he's doing, it's how he's doing it. If he want to use religion to help people he can start a church and council anyone who shows up. But what he's doing is pretending to be a doctor to make money, a lot of which comes from government handouts that his wife is supposedly against.

Don't think you can push around people without them finally pushing back.
    • A Yahoo! User  •  10 mths ago
Not sure how these kind of childish antics are going to help. They remind me of teenagers who get back at the mean old guy in the neighborhood by toilet papering his yard. I support gay rights, but the people who do this glittering stuff need to grow up and find better ways to convey their message
    • Observer  •  10 mths ago
Only 1/3 of the world is Christian. Time for them to stop forcing their way of life on the reset of us.
    • bhilastbd  •  10 mths ago
Why do you suppose God hates homosexuals. Could be God does not really care it is just a proclamation by some Christians judging others. They are very selective in picking which parts of the bible they will follow, it seems they missed the part about judging others.
    • Observer  •  10 mths ago
So... hubby gets Medicare bucks for fake therapy, and wifey gets farm subsidies for a fake farm. Whatta country!
    • hello  •  10 mths ago
these events just cause people to become more polar on their views....what kind of person who feels compassion for others will want to side with someone who, out of spite, destroys or defaces someone else's property in any manner to prove a point?
    • Teapublican idiocy  •  10 mths ago
Lets face it, those so called freedom loving, small government advocating conservative Christians would use the big power of government in a heartbeat to jam their religious agenda down people's throats. Weve seen this immediately with the new Republican Governors. ITS NOT ABOUT JOBS, its all about IDEOLOGY.

      Pro-Gay People Would Admit

      1. I wish they would admit that many people are not happy with their homosexuality or lesbianism, and that this conflict is internal, based on legitimate, intelligent religious and moral convictions--not just the result of a so-called "homophobic" society which is forcing guilt upon people who don't conform to a heterosexual ethic.
Stop throwing out the cheap, inaccurate labels like "internalized homophobia" to explain our motivations.

      2. I wish they would acknowledge that homosexuals and lesbians can experience significant change in their sexual feelings and desires, even though they may never be totally heterosexual in their sexual thoughts and feelings.
Be honest enough to admit that such change is significant and genuine, even if it isn't complete.

      3. I wish they would acknowledge that many former homosexuals and lesbians have found a greater measure of peace and satisfaction after leaving a gay or lesbian lifestyle than they ever experienced while embracing homosexuality.
Not all "ex-gays" are miserable, plotting how to secretly fulfill their homosexual lusts without being caught.

      4. I wish they would acknowledge that many former homosexuals and lesbians have genuine joy in their marriages.
Most former gays and lesbians don't get married in a futile attempt to "escape" homosexuality; they marry as a natural consequence of resolving that issue in their lives.

      5. I wish they would acknowledge that all people have as much right to pursue a heterosexual lifestyle as they do to pursue homosexuality. Former homosexuals and lesbians should not be harassed and castigated by the gay community. But I have never heard any gay or lesbian leaders speak out against the violence (such as bomb threats and physical/verbal abuse) which some people perpetuate against Exodus ministries.

      6. I wish they would stop equating our decision to leave homosexuality with "hatred" and "bigotry" against gays and lesbians.
We don't hate gays; we simply desire to live free of homosexuality. Don't put nasty labels upon our motives. That's being judgmental and unfair.

      7. I wish pro-gay religious leaders would admit that their endorsement and promotion of monogamous homosexual relationships is a facade.

Many--probably most--men and women involved in long-term partnerships are not sexually monogamous, but gay churches don't discipline members for committing "adultery" outside their "gay marriage." Neither do they discipline gays or lesbians who have sex before entering into a "holy union" with their partner.

Bob Davies is a former homosexual himself. He has been married to his wife for nine years
