Watch As This Brave Labrador Retriever Rescues Two Dogs From a Canoe
It sometimes seems like every new animal rescue video tugs on our heartstrings more than the last, but our latest find has us melting for one surprising reason: The hero of the rescue mission isn't a shelter worker, or even a human at all.
When a gust of wind pushed a canoe into a river, two cute dogs found themselves trapped and cried out for help. Their barks and whimpers are enough to bring tears to your eyes.
Moments later, an unlikely hero arrived on the scene. Watch as this brave Labrador Retriever rushes over to the canoe to save his friends.
"Labs will retrieve anything, but what's amazing here is that one of the dogs in the canoe takes the rope and places it over the side and into the water for the Labrador to grab a hold of," explained Deborah Faddis in the video's caption.
As this smart dog pulls his friends to safety we can't help but cheer when they finally reach the shore. The whole thing is an excellent reminder to always lend a helping hand (or paw!) so that a friend is never left behind.
