A pair of British RAF Tornado fighters intercepted and destroyed an armed ISIS pickup truck in Iraq this week with a “Brimstone” — a “fire-and-forget,” guided, anti-armor missile that has become the RAF’s weapon of choice in the Middle East, according to The Aviationist.

The missiles are guided via millimeter wave radar seeker and semi-active laser systems, which make the Brimstone highly effective against small, nimble targets. The 9 kg warhead has a range of 7.5 miles and is reportedly accurate to within 1 to 2 meters.
The Cyprus-based Tornado GR4s were flying an armed recon mission in northwestern Iraq when they were called to support Kurdish troops under ISIS attack on Sept. 30.
