Watch: Shocking Moment Man Films Sister Being Thrown From Center Parcs Water Slide

This is the terrifying moment a woman smashed her head as she was thrown from a Center Parcs water slide.

The dramatic footage, filmed on her brother’s GoPro camera, shows 16-year-old Rea Smith moaning in confusion and pain as her worried family members try to help her.

Just seconds before, the group had been smiling and laughing as they made their way down the slide at the Woburn Center Parcs in Bedfordshire.

But as they giant rubber ring hurtled around, Rea lost her grip and fell backwards onto the hard surface of the slide.

Having reached the bottom, brother Matt held on to her as they waited for assistance from staff at the pool.

The ride was still running as the waited and the group called out for it to be switched off to stop other thrillseekers coming down and ramming into them.

Finally, a group of lifeguards arrive and place Rea onto a supportive stretcher and take her to hospital.

Fortunately, Rea was not seriously injured in the incident, suffering only bruises from her fall.

Matt later wrote online about the incident, and thanked Center Parcs staff for their quick response.

He said: “My sister fell off the ride due to not holding on tight enough.

“She slipped backwards off the inflatable because of the impacts of the rushing water…

“I would like to thank the entire team at Center Parcs for all of their help.”

A Center Parcs spokesman added to MailOnline: “When the accident occurred, the lifeguard team acted quickly and used a spinal board as a precautionary measure.

“Our medical team checked her over and sent her to hospital who confirmed the injury was a bruised spine.

“We followed up with the guest and her family soon after and were pleased to hear she was OK.”
