What to Watch Tonight: Criminal Minds' Season 10 Premiere (With BAU Newbie Jennifer Love Hewitt!), The Bridge's Season Finale, and, If You Must, Stalker

What to watch on Wednesday, October 1...

8pm, ABC
The Middle
In order to afford a top-flight college education for Sue, Frankie and Mike hunt for second jobs in "The Loneliest Locker." Meanwhile, Axl scavenges items from the Heck homestead to furnish his new digs, Brick rediscovers a box of old (and irritating) toys, and Sue and Brad shepherd the school's senior play.

8pm, NBC
The Mysteries of Laura
Old memories spark a renewed connection when Laura's latest murder case leads her and Jake to the site of their first date in "The Mystery of the Biker Bar." At home, a babysitter with a criminal record proves a worthy nemesis for the twins.

8:30pm, ABC
The Goldbergs
When Adam's dreams of landing the lead role in the school musical are dashed, Beverly casts him in a rival show. Elsewhere in "Mama Drama," Murray's insistence on leaving sporting events early to beat the traffic robs him and Barry of a memorable moment.

SEASON 10 PREMIERE, 9pm, CBS
Criminal Minds
"X" marks the start of the tenth season with the BAU team investigating murders in Bakersfield, CA, that render victims unidentifiable. New addition Jennifer Love Hewitt keeps insisting she can just ask their ghosts who they were, but nobody's quite sure what she's talking about.

9pm, NBC
Law & Order: SVU
A pro basketball star who's just signed a high-profile branding deal is accused of multiple rapes in "American Disgrace." As the case unfolds, it sends Rollins to her old precinct in Atlanta, where she reckons with her past.

9pm, Fox
Red Band Society
A visitor from Jordi's past raises hell at the hospital, while Dr. McAndrews unwittingly betrays a patient's trust in "Liar, Liar Pants on Fire." And yes, I agree there should be one more comma in that title, but hey, nobody at Fox consults me about these things.

9pm, ABC
Modern Family
Jay and Gloria can't decide whether to go simple or extravagant for their upcoming anniversary, while Mitch, Cam, and Lily pose for a new family portrait. Meanwhile in "Do Not Push," Phil, Luke, and Haley are roped into a psych experiment when the family joins Alex on a tour of Caltech.

9:30pm, ABC
Black-ish
"The Talk" finds Dre educating Andre Jr. on the birds and the bees. But that proves to be a mistake when the lad begins peppering him with nonstop questions about sex.

SERIES PREMIERE, 10pm, CBS
Stalker
Dylan McDermott and Maggie Q star in the latest lurid, misogynistic excrescence thriller from Kevin Williamson. They're L.A. cops who specialize in stalking cases. Thus endeth the last time I will devote a moment's thought to Stalker until the season finale, assuming that isn't forestalled by a merciful early cancellation.

SEASON 2 FINALE, 10pm, FX
The Bridge
Marco faces a test of loyalty, Sonya ties up loose ends, and Eleanor strives for closure in "Jubilex," which I'm pretty sure was also the name of Jubilee's evil alter ego at some point during the X-Men "Age of Apocalypse" saga.

10pm, ABC
Nashville
Rayna redoubles her publicity push after Will's debut album tops the charts in "How Far Down Can I Go." Meanwhile, Juliette readies for a critical audition against familiar competition, a rebellious Maddie proves a handful for Deacon, and Zoey's ire is raised when Scarlett collaborates with Gunnar on a new song.

10pm, FXX
The League
Kevin and Jenny acquire a new amenity in "The Hot Tub." In other pursuits, Taco is in the market for a new house, and surely only the toniest North Shore domicile will suffice.

10pm, TNT
Franklin & Bash
The fellas help a friend land a spot in an age-restricted retirement community in "Falcon's Nest," while Karp and Anita work on behalf of a scientist at risk of losing a key grant.

10pm, NBC
Chicago P.D.
Voight, Ruzek, Antonio, and Halstead are on the case when Voight's friend falls prey to an apparent serial killer in "Get My Cigarettes." Meanwhile, Desk Sgt. Pratt helps Burgess and Roman investigate a string of home invasions.

10pm, Comedy Central
South Park
Always punching in a squarely upward direction, the town takes on food allergies in "Gluten Free Ebola."

10:30pm, Comedy Central
Key & Peele
A parole officer and his puppet friend connect with a parolee, a soldier returns to his family, and a man refuses to let his neck brace interfere with his partying.
