What to Watch This Weekend: Key & Peele's Super Bowl Special, the Super Bowl (and the Puppy, Kitten, and Fish Bowls), and the Return of The Blacklist

What to watch on Friday, January 30...

NEXT: Saturday, January 31 | Sunday, February 1

8pm, NBC
Constantine
Manny tasks John with helping an old friend (Jeremy Davies) after a group of Ivy University students stumble upon an alternate dimension inhabited by a crazed killer (William Mapother). No word on whether "A Whole World Out There" will also include a polar bear or a smoke monster just to see how many Lost vets it can cram into one episode.

8pm, The CW
Hart of Dixie
It's time for the BlueBell talent show in "Red Dye #40"—but could foul play be behind likely frontrunner Shelby's sudden malady? In less sinister shenanigans, Wade and Zoe have a hard time keeping their romance under wraps.

8:30pm, ABC
Cristela
Daniela frets about Cristela's health in "Hypertension," but her advice may do more harm than good. At the office, Josh takes CPR training to impress Trent.

SEASON 2 PREMIERE, 9pm & 10pm, PBS
Shakespeare Uncovered
Hugh Bonneville considers one of the Bard's best loved comedies, A Midsummer Night's Dream, in the season premiere. Then in tonight's second episode, Christopher Plummer examines the tragedy of King Lear, the title role of which he first played in 2002, and shares thoughts with Ian McKellen and Simon Russell Beale.

9pm, NBC
Grimm
Nick and Hank investigate a murder at a house that's rumored to be haunted in "Death Do Us." Could the culprit be a g-g-g-ghost? Or just a surly groundskeeper in a latex mask who would've gotten away with it if it weren't for that meddling Grimm and his partner?

9pm, Fox
Glee
Ever the do-gooder, Sue tries to patch up a relationship in "The Hurt Locker, Part Two." In other selfless deeds, Kitty helps Rachel nail down a set list for the invitational while Sam recruits a jock for glee club.

9pm, Syfy
12 Monkeys
In "Cassandra Complex," the hunt for the virus whisks Cole back to those bygone days of 2014, when bright-eyed troubadour Taylor Swift took America's transistor radios by storm and merry japesters James Franco and Seth Rogen reminded a nation how to laugh. Also, Dr. Railly experienced some really horrific stuff during a lethal outbreak in Haiti.

10pm, Syfy
Helix
Jordan and Peter have a nasty encounter in the woods, while Alan tries to get things at the abbey under control. Elsewhere in "Scion," Kyle is hoisted on his own petard by a bunch of children.

10pm, Cinemax
Banshee
Will Siobhan expose Lucas or stay mum? How has Rebecca gotten on the bad side of Chayton, who's marshalling his forces? Where will Carrie wind up after dropping her job like a bad habit and hitting the open road? These questions and more may be answered in "Real Life Is the Nightmare."

10pm, Comedy Central
Key & Peele Super Bowl Special
The comics gear up for Sunday's big game with a smorgasbord of sketches centered on the gridiron.

LATE-NITE:
– Aziz Ansari, Brian Kiley, and Ben Howard on Late Show with David Letterman, 11:35pm, CBS
– Ben Schwartz, Beth Stern, Eric André, Death Cab for Cutie, and guest host Adam Pally on The Late Late Show, 12:37am, CBS

What to watch on Saturday, January 31...

PREVIOUSLY: Friday, January 30 | NEXT: Sunday, February 1

MOVIE PREMIERE, 8pm, Lifetime
Beautiful & Twisted
Millionaire Hotel Heir Rob Lowe becomes Kinky Married Man Rob Lowe and then Murdered Possibly By His Wife Rob Lowe in this Lifetime adaptation of true events.

9pm, HBO
Mel Brooks Live at the Geffen
The comedy legend takes the stage at L.A.'s Geffen Playhouse to tell jokes, answer questions, perform songs from his films, and spin yarns about both his prolific career and his personal life.

9pm, Fox
Red Band Society
So I guess Fox has a few more episodes of this in the can, huh? Including "The Guilted Age," in which an unexpected return to the ward uncovers a betrayal.

9pm, BBC America
The Musketeers
In "The Good Traitor," the boys land in a tricky political web when a Spanish general promises valuable information if they'll rescue his abducted daughter. Elsewhere, Constance pulls out all the stops to bring the deathly ill dauphin back to health.

9pm, Starz
Black Sails
Flint gives Dufresne some advice, then rigs up one of the cannons to shoot a "The More You Know Comet" overhead just for good measure. Meanwhile, Eleanor is charged with defenestrating a captain, Rackham's ambition awakens, and Silver tries to boost his value.

9pm, Discovery
Mythbusters
The guys test myths drawn from the world of video games. I already can tell them from personal experience that shouting "UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT B A START" at your problems has dispiritingly little effect in real life.

10pm, TNT
Transporter: The Series
Frank must transport a thoroughbred racehorse to the Belmont Stakes in "Sixteen Hands"—but not before fending off the mysterious assailant who broke into the stable. I know this isn't the first time Transporter: The Series has ripped off an old Mr. Ed episode wholesale, but it has to be the most blatant.

11:30pm, NBC
Saturday Night Live
J.K. Simmons stops by to host, and hopefully, to appeal to a national audience for the capture of Spider-Man. Musical guest D'Angelo just hopes that won't bait the Green Goblin into attacking Studio 8H, though we all know it probably will.

What to watch on Sunday, February 1...

PREVIOUSLY: Friday, January 30 | Saturday, January 31

12pm, Hallmark
Kitten Bowl II
Adorable tiny cats frolic against a vaguely football-themed backdrop for the amusement of humans. Also featured: Boomer Esiason.

3pm, Animal Planet
Puppy Bowl XI
Adorable tiny dogs frolic against a vaguely football-themed backdrop for the amusement of humans. Also featured: a hamster in a biplane.

6pm, NatGeo Wild
Fish Bowl
Adorable tiny fish… well, they do whatever it is fish do, against a vaguely football-themed backdrop, for the amusement of humans. Okay seriously, WHAT is up with all the football-themed programming today? Is this all connected to something larger?

6pm Eastern, NBC
Super Bowl XLIX
Oh. Right. This thing. The defending champion Seattle Seahawks and the allegedly ball-manipulating New England Patriots duke it out at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ. Katy Perry and Lenny Kravitz headline the halftime entertainment.

9pm, PBS
Downton Abbey
Rose meets a dashing new acquaintance (dashing new acquaintances being Downton's second-most abundant import) while Edith's ties to Marigold raise suspicions (suspicions being the first-most abundant). Meanwhile, Robert and Bricker butt heads, Thomas fights off an illness, and Branson is forced to choose sides.

9pm, Showtime
Shameless
"A Night to Remem...Wait, What?" finds Frank in a pickle after his latest bender leaves him missing his insurance settlement. Elsewhere, Lip drops in on Amanda in Miami, Debbie discovers a new crush and a new hobby, Kev hesitates to leave the girls with a sitter, Gus confesses his true feelings for Fiona, and Carl adds another felony to his resume.

10pm, Showtime
House of Lies
The collapse of the Gage presentation forces Marty to improvise, even if that means crossing Ellis, in "We Can Always Just Overwhelm the Vagus Nerve With Another Sensation." In other ventures, Jeannie enlists a headhunter's help while Doug hopes to get on board with Clyde and Kelsey's new business.

10:15pm or after the Super Bowl, NBC
The Blacklist
After being apprehended by the feds in "Luther Braxton, Part 1," Red is thrown into a secret detention facility, where he encounters a thief (Ron Perlman) with whom he shares a past. Guys, is The Blacklist setting up a Piper-and-Alex-from-Orange-Is-the-New-Black situation here? It definitely is, right?

10:30pm, Showtime
Episodes
Sean and Beverly feel the pressure from Sean's former writing partner, while Carol embraces a sudden new romance. Meanwhile, Matt thinks he's found the solution to all his problems: shouting "UP UP DOWN DOWN LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT B A START" at them. (No, he didn't watch this weekend's Mythbusters, the poor lug.)
