Weather service forecasts 110 degrees in Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — The National Weather Service is forecasting temperatures as high as 110 degrees and a high danger of wildfire in Arkansas.

Forecasters say humidity is expected to drop below 30 percent Monday across the state, making it easier for fires to start.

Also, forecasters say a cool front is approaching from the north and southwest winds ahead of the front will help fires spread more easily. Some thunderstorms are possible.

A heat advisory is in effect for all of Arkansas. The hottest temperatures are expected west of a line from Camden to Stuttgart.

Burn bans are in place for 60 of Arkansas' 75 counties.

The Arkansas Forestry Commission has upgraded the fire danger to extreme for most of the state.
