5. James Franco’s Booty-Text Apology

“You know, I’m embarrassed… I guess I’m just a model of how social media is tricky.” With those words (and more), actor-filmmaker-performance artist multi-hyphenate James Franco apologized on the morning show Live with Kelly and Michael for his recent Instagram-and-text dalliance with a 17-year-old Scottish fan, who took it upon herself to post screenshots of their booty-text correspondences online. It ain’t easy bein’ Franco.

1. Jon Hamm Gets Rejected??

Someone actually rejected Don Draper. Back in the ‘90s, a 25-year-old Jon Hamm—sporting an excellent hairdo straight out of Boy Meets World—appeared on the dating show The Big Date, where a woman picks one of three single fellas to take out. Here’s Hamm’s ideal version of a date: “Start off with some fabulous food, a little fabulous conversation, with a fabulous foot massage for an evening of total fabulosity.” Unfortunately, the lucky lady wasn’t buying it, and gave Hamm his walking papers. And ever since, she’s probably been begging for a do-over.
