Weight Watchers says director Kim Roy resigns
NEW YORK (AP) — Weight Watchers International Inc. said Wednesday that Kim Roy is resigning from its board of directors effective Sept. 29.
The resignation takes effect at the end of Weight Watchers' fiscal third quarter. The company said Steven Altschuler will join the board Sept. 30 to replace Roy.
Altschuler, 58, has been CEO of The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia since April 2000. He will complete Roy's current term on the board and stand for re-election at the company's 2013 annual meeting.
Roy has been on the board of Weight Watchers since March 2008. The company said she indicated earlier in the year that she might not run for a new term of the board because of increased responsibilities as group president at Ralph Lauren Corp.
Weight Watchers also declared a quarterly cash dividend of 17.5 cents. The company's next dividend is payable Oct. 12 to shareholders of record on Sept. 28.
