    We realize there's only so much time one can spend in a day watching new trailers, viral video clips, and shaky cell phone footage of people arguing on live television. This is why every day The Atlantic Wire highlights the videos that truly earn your five minutes (or less) of attention. Today: another Wes Anderson hip-hop mashup, Steve Martin reminds America why he should be hosting the Oscars, and Meryl Streep is overpraised for the recovery of her shoe.

    On Friday, we expressed concern that the weekend might prevent the mashup of Ja Rule with Wes Anderson slow-motion walking scenes from reaching peak memedom. As it turns out, we had nothing to worry about: The Internet was fully capable of keeping the meme alive with a supercut of Anderson scenes set to the smooth, NSFW sounds of Drake.     Steve Martin delivered some witty, off-the-cuff observations last night about the difference between Oscar hosts and Grammy hosts, only serving to get us more riled up that he won't be hosting the Academy Awards later this month. We will miss his gentle charm and whimsy, and the fact that he's never insisted on being digitally inserted into footage from all the Best Picture contenders. [The Hollywood Reporter]

    Meryl Streep's shoe fell off at the BAFTAs last night, but she didn't let that stop her from delivering a cogent acceptance speech. This is being hailed in some quarters as yet another example of Streep being a consummate professional, a theory we don't totally buy. Where would she be without the tireless support of presenter Colin Firth, who helped Streep retrieve the stray footwear? Yet she's the one getting all the post-BAFTA plaudits.
