    White House: Analyst comment 'inappropriate'

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House says an off-color remark about President Barack Obama by MSNBC analyst Mark Halperin was inappropriate.

Halperin said during an appearance Thursday on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" that he thought Obama "was a dick yesterday." The Time magazine editor at large was talking about Obama's performance at a White House news conference on Wednesday.

White House spokesman Jay Carney said the comment was an inappropriate thing to say about any president. Carney also said he had expressed that sentiment to network executives.

Halperin quickly apologized on the air Thursday. MSNBC suspended him indefinitely hours later.

MSNBC also said Halperin's comment was completely inappropriate and unacceptable. The network apologized to Obama.

Oh please give me a break. If this was one of those liberals saying the same thing about President George Bush, it wouldn't even make the news. He didn't say anything that was un-true. He happend to be correct. Why appologize for that?

The analyst comment may have been inappropriate, but Obamas attempt at leadership and acting presidential is just a downright embarrassment
Just trying to put some light on the subject

but it's okay for Oboy to name call--like the time he said the police officers were stupid. what a hypocrite. if he doesnt want names to be thrown at him, he should live by the same standards.

I wonder if he would have gotten in trouble if he had called him an arrogant thin skinned whining little crybaby who pouts because he doesn't get his way?

You'd have a long way to go to take that one away from the Republicans right now...

      What happened to FREE SPEECH!!!
      • truebluefan 11 mths ago
that's just the beginnings of socialism.

This is stupid. He was expressing an opinion that he was asked to articulate. He asked if they had the seven second delay and was told to go ahead and say what he thought. He did nothing wrong and should not have had to apologize. I'm pretty liberal and I support Obama, but this sounds like the very same "phony outrage" that Obama asked to be spared when he made his "lipstick on a pig" comment.

yeah, he can in a sense imply that Sarah is a pig but he cant stand it when he gets what he sows---name calling. he is suppose to be President and he acts like a bully in the 4th grade: name calling; threatening others; giving out orders but wont listen to criticism about himself: not traits of a leader or a professional.

WHEN A LIBERAL TELLS THE TRUTH ONE TIME IN HIS LIFE WHY DOES HE FEEL HE HAS TO APOLOGIZE
    • Vette59  •  11 mths ago
Comment should have been more specific. He screws the American people without using his dick.

Inaaproproiate, maybe. But nobody has said they were inaacurate.

Wow so Obama can call people names, he called Palin a pig, he calls the Republicans his enemies, but cannot take it himself. Guess the Obama administration is going after free speech now.

Obama's BRAND NEW campaign promises for the 2012 Election:
      .
      1) He will promise JOBS JOBS JOBS. The President is saying he finally has an opening in his busy schedule (golf is demanding) to push through Congress a "stimulus" bill that he promises will keep unemployment under 8%. Obama's new $1 Trillion "investment" is guaranteed to work, this time.
      .
      2) Obama will take a sworn oath to close that awful Guantanamo Bay torture chamber- 1 year from today. No ifs, ands, or buts. No sir.
      .
      3) Obama will create the most open, honest and transparent administration in history. Obama already received the "Openness Award" in a secret White House ceremony to prove it.
      .
      4) Obama will "end the illegal Bush wars" as he promised in 2008- just as soon as he finishes his war on Libya. No Constitutionally required Congressional approval is needed for Obama's war in Libya -because he says so.
      .
      5) Obama will end the "Bush tax cuts for the rich." Period. Done. Over. There is "no way" he would ever, EVER sign a bill giving $$$BILLIONS to the rich, even if a Democrat Party controlled House and Senate approved them.
      .
      6) Terrorist suspects will be tried in civilian courts, not wicked military tribunals. "Never again will America treat terrorists differently from other common criminals," Obama said. Eric Holder agreed, saying, "we can prosecute purse snatchers in civilian courts- look sometimes just mailing in your payment for a speeding ticket is enough punishment."
      .
Eric Holder will continue Obama's Gun-Running Program, "Fast and Furious" to arm Mexican Drug Gangs with the very latest Automatic Weapons, saying "The problem with Drug Gangs is their lack of firepower. We need to close Guantanamo much more than we need to end the Narco-Murders in Mexico and the US."
      .
      7) Obama will crack down on corporate tax cheats. Said Obama, "Those lazy, greedy crooks are robbing America of its JOBS JOBS JOBS and its future."
      .
But not Obama's favorite corporate lapdog General Electric.
Instead the President will punish GE for being the world largest tax cheat by making GE's pirate in chief- little Jeffey Immelt- the Obama JOBS JOBS JOBS Czar.
GE profits = $14,000,000,000. Taxes paid = ZERO
      .
It helps if the lazy, greedy crooks make $$$MILLIONS in campaign donations to the DEMCORAT PARTY.
      .
      8) Obama will promise to stop selling Government favors like his sale of Obamacare Waivers, right after he is re-elected. "Gosh," he said, "I promise."

OFF COLOR (no pun intended) Arrogant, Egotistical, Conceded, Abrasive, Self Righteous, Narcissistic, Vain, Egocentric. Any of these fit Obama, no need to use the slang for the male reproductive organ. However, when angry he resembles a blood filled throbbing extremity a phallus ( THE MAN WAS CORRECT!
    • Marco  •  11 mths ago
At least he called it like he saw it.
    • Robert  •  11 mths ago
And yet when President Bush had a shoe thrown at him, the jackass half of the US population rejoiced. Obama gets the labels he deserves. My vote would be "One Term President."
    • Elaine A  •  11 mths ago
I think he has some nerve to insult the President of the United States in that manner!! If anyone was a d*ck it was him!! Actually he should bed fired for behaving so unprofessionally.

If you can’t respect the person, respect the office. I for one am glad the incident occurred. I showed the true mindset of certain individuals in the nation. Who feel a since of entitlement and refuse to see there are persons of various opinions who do not agree with them. Because the other individuals fail to see things their way, it is felt that it is acceptable to disparage them in public and open forums. They feel it is their right to debase the opposition with out regard for their dignity. We pride ourselves as a nation of free thinkers and progressive conversationalist. However I saw none of this during the exchange on MSNBC. It is everyones right to disagree, how ever we can and must do so in an enlighten maner.
