    The White iPhone 4 release date delays are frustrating Apple customers. Originally, the white iPhone 4 handset was set to be released at the same time as its black counterpart. Prior to the launch of the newly redesigned handset, it was announced that the white phone would not be available until later. When? They didn't announce

    The 'Antennagate' Scandal

    The so-called "antennagate" scandal deals with Apple's "Death Grip" reception problems. Shortly after the release date of the iPhone 4, it was noted that users were having difficulties with dropped calls. This occurred because when they held their hand over the antenna, it caused the call to drop. The issue was most widely known with left-handers.

    The Solution

    The solution to the iPhone 4 "Death Grip" was simple - a free case or bumper. Apple is giving users a free bumper or case of their choosing with a retail value of $29. Users can pick up their free case by downloading an App from the App store, and following the instructions.

    Of course, those desiring a White iPhone 4 will find this of little use, because they do not have their phone yet.

    Apple's Claims

    At a press conference dealing with the "antennagate" scandal, Steve Jobs promised that there would be 'resolution' to the White iPhone 4 release date problem 'by July 31st.' Many mistook this comment for meaning that the white colored handset would be released by July 31st. Not the case. Apple then, prior to their deadline, announced that due to issues with "production" the White handset would not be available until later this year.

    The Rumors

    Many bloggers speculate that Apple won't ever release the White iPhone 4. Others think that the product will become available after Apple sorts out its reception issue, saving them from having to dole out free cases to even more people purchasing the handset.
