Why Does Jerry O'Connell Fear Tom Cruise?
Jerry O'Connell admits he once hid from Tom Cruise after starring in a 2008 Funny or Die sketch in which he impersonated the star.
On Tuesday, the 41-year-old sat down with the podcast “Allegedly With Theo Von & Matthew Cole Weiss” and talked about how he felt after that controversial clip. “I saw [Cruise] at one event, and I hid. I had to be at the event. I hid for as long as I could,” he said. “When it was time to disperse, I literally was the first at valet.”
O'Connell admits he’s still “sort of avoiding” the A-lister. “I don’t think there will be a confrontation, but it’s just, why poke that bear?” he said. “It was rude what I did.”
The actor went on to tell the hosts why Scientology wasn’t for him. “Scientology is a weird place… I’m 41 so I don’t know if Scientology is right in my wheelhouse.”
