Why You Should Wait to Buy a Galaxy S6
The Samsung Galaxy S6 is arguably the best Android phone on the market, but if you don't have one already — wait. According to an earnings report, the Korean smartphone maker is likely to slash the price of its flagship device in the wake of disappointing sales.
Samsung didn't specify how much of a price cut to expect in its blog post, only stating that it would be "adjusting" the price of both the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, in order to ramp up sales momentum. Samsung mentioned that it would introduce "new premium smartphone models," likely referring to the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus that are expected to arrive in August.
The Galaxy S6 is currently available on-contract for $199, or roughly $680 unlocked. Opting for the curved-display S6 Edge will run you an extra $100 in both cases. Samsung's flagship smartphone is currently our favorite overall handset, thanks to its attractive design, gorgeous quad-HD display and impressive camera.

Samsung's next big flagship will likely be the Galaxy Note 5, a phablet that's rumored to pack such features as a quad HD display, USB Type C connectivity and a unique all-in-one processor that offers faster performance. Samsung is also rumored to be prepping a Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, which would be a larger, 5.5-inch version of its curved-screen smartphone.
Both devices are expected to debut at Samsung's Unpacked event in New York, on August 13, which would give the company a nice cushion against Apple's typical early September release of the next iPhone.
