Wi-Fi fit for a president: Current White House tech a ‘little sketchy’

President Obama says one improvement he’d like to make at the White House for his successor is to upgrade the Wi-Fi system. Speaking during an interview with CBS News on Super Bowl Sunday, both Obama and his wife, Michelle, said getting better-quality connectivity for the Internet is a serious issue at the Executive Mansion. There “are a lot of dead spots” where Wi-Fi doesn’t work, the president said. First lady Michelle Obama noted that the system “can be a little sketchy.”

The whole tech thing, we’ve been trying to get that straight for the next group of folks, because it is an old building.

Meantime, the Obamas sat back to enjoy the Super Bowl on Sunday. Although Michelle Obama has been a proponent of healthy eating and diets, the first family suspended its “Let’s Move” campaign for the day. President Obama and the family watched the game with a regular group of friends, snacking on wings, pizza and nachos. There was also a vegetable tray “that nobody touches,” the president noted in the pregame interview.
