Wikipedia review

The new redesigned Wikipedia app looks and feels more like the website and turns out to be easy to read and navigate. Because of the optimized interface, light/dark themes, scalable font, and smooth scrolling, enjoying Wikipedia on Android through this app is much more convenient than through your Web browser.

Pros

Fast, streamlined, and beautiful: With its sleek interface and fast & smooth navigation, Wikipedia for Android can kindle your passion for the world's most popular encyclopedia, encouraging you to read more. It lets you save favorite pages, which you can even view offline, keep a history of the pages you've seen so far, and even edit content.

Great navigation: Complementing the smooth, effortless scrolling, the Table of Contents available as a right-hand sidebar that you can bring up with a quick swipe from right to left allows you to quickly jump to any section of the article. This feature is so awesome that it makes navigating long articles on your mobile device easier than doing it on your desktop.

Supports 28 languages: By choosing Read in Other Languages from the app settings menu you can enjoy Wikipedia content in all the 28 available languages, from Afrikaans to Cantonese.

Cons

Find within page feature is too awkward: The find within page option hidden in the app's menu doesn't prove too handy when you need to find specific information in a large article with many long subsections. It should require fewer taps.

Can't open several articles at once as tabs: You can only do this when accessing Wikipedia through your Web browser.

Bottom Line

The updated Wikipedia app impresses with its excellent design and quick navigation, proving to be a huge improvement over the previous release. It's a fast, customizable, and thoroughly enjoyable app that brings you tons of easy-to-digest content in a beautiful format. You must grab it.
