Wild land Pominville for two prospects

The Buffalo Sabres traded captain Jason Pominville to the Minnesota Wild for two prospects, according to multiple reports.

Less than an hour before the NHL trade deadline, the Wild sent goaltender Matthew Hackett and left wing Johan Larsson, as they vie for the Northwest Division title. Pominville has 10 goals and 15 assists in 37 games this season.

The Sabres will miss the playoffs, and are in sell mode, having already dealt defensemen Robyn Regehr and Jordan Leopold.

Hackett could eventually replace Ryan Miller whenever the star goalie leaves. Larson was Minnesota's second-round pick in 2010, and had 37 points in 65 games for the Houston Aeros of the AHL this season.
