    Williams apologizes for Hitler-Obama analogy

Hank Williams Jr. is apologizing for using an analogy to Adolf Hitler in discussing President Barack Obama that prompted ESPN to pull his classic intro song to "Monday Night Football."

Williams said in a statement posted on Facebook and his website Tuesday that his passion for politics and sports "got the best or worst of me."

In an interview Monday on Fox News' "Fox & Friends," Williams, unprompted, said of Obama's outing on the links with House Speaker John Boehner: "It'd be like Hitler playing golf with (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu."

Asked to clarify, Williams said, "They're the enemy," adding that by "they" he meant Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.

    Williams backed off Tuesday.

"The thought of the leaders of both parties jukin and high fiven on a golf course, while so many families are struggling to get by simply made me boil over and make a dumb statement," Williams said. "I am very sorry if it offended anyone."

ESPN had no further comment. It is not known if the intro, synonymous with "Monday Night Football" since 1989, would be used again.

"Tehran, Iran (10/9/11) Ahmedinajad, the dictator of Iran, is now a big fan of Hank Williams, Jr. He said in a statement that he was happy to hear that finally there's an American like Hank, jr who understands what he's been saying for years: that the president of the USA is like Hitler (and the American government is like a Zionist Nazi Germany in its persecution of the Muslim world). He is thinking of inviting Hank, Jr to come play at their next public stoning! Ahmedinajad added that he never realized before listening to Hank's music how much Texas and Iran have much in common. He said they're both very religious peoples who live in the desert and believe in strict family values. And, they both love oil, weapons, and executions!"

      disconnect...
All he knows is that the deeply creepy who enjoy Republicanism (as it translates to the dirty bigot crowd), are also the same anti-American, rights-crushing monsters who buy his records.
The crowd HE represents are more the type we associate with Nazis -- when we think of atrocities.
Republicans want to associate GOOD people (democrats) with Nazis through a stretched parallel with "socialism", but socialism is not why we remember (and can never forget) Nazis -- we remember them because of their extreme racism, and their many sadistic approaches to genocide (economic genocide included -- like we see from the American "conservatives", as applied against working, elderly, and poor).

People: Censored means by the government. The government isn't demanding anything. The free market (capitalism) allows companies to choose who they hire. His free speech rights have not been violated by anyone. He can say what he wants, just as the idiot Tony Bennett did, but my rights allow me to stop watching him and letting sponsors know I wont buy products that use him.

Once a fool is not always a fool. I am now ashamed to say I voted for Obama, it is proven over and over again that he is a liar and a traitor the this wonderful country. He will go into the history books as the worst president in the history of America. Those of you whom can not face the truth about this man are bigots, and racist themselves. I am a 62 year old Viet Nam war vet and #$%$ glad I didn't have to serve under him.

It's becoming the norm now for any statements made publically by anyone is followed up by apology because of some group that was offended.
No wonder there's so much phony-emotion all over the place...as phony as this apology in this story is.

I take it that you feel that being disrespectful to the president is okay, I remember trying to knock someone teeth out of their mouth for saying something bad about my mother. This country is going in the wrong direction in a hurry.

HWJr is a cash-and-drug-fueled auto-sycophantic blow-hard, suffering from complete reality disconnect...

how about not paying these clowns to perform before football and go back to just the good old national anthem?
    • Lucy  •  7 mths ago
So he got Joe Biden and John Boehner confused? That is his apology?
    • Augerpups  •  7 mths ago
Give him the Dixie Chick treatment. As I recall, Clear Channel banned their music on their station, they lost endorsements, the country music industry treated them like pirahhas, all for saying in England they were embarassed because GWB was from Texas. They said how dare the Dixie Chicks disrespect the office of the POTUS. Lets see all of these people treat Williams the same or they are a bunch of hypocrites because calling the President the enemy is far worse.

Hank should be ashamed of such a stupid comparison. I'd have gone with the Hitler and Moses playing golf myself.

Hank.... I thought you had more testicles then that.
