Williams-Sonoma, RR Donnelley ink printing pact

Williams-Sonoma gives multi-year contract to RR Donnelley & Sons to print its catalogs

CHICAGO (AP) -- Printing company R.R. Donnelley & Sons Co. said it received a multi-year contract with Williams-Sonoma Inc. that makes it responsible for printing all of the company's catalogs.

Wiliams-Sonoma, based in San Francisco, specializes in housewares and home furnishings. It owns Pottery Barn, West Elm and its namesake stores.

Chicago-based R.R. Donnelley & Sons said Tuesday that the deal is a multi-million dollar agreement, but it did not give specific financial terms.

The contract calls for R.R. Donnelley & Sons to provide printing, sophisticated co-mailing and mailing logistics services for all of Williams-Sonoma's catalogs. R.R. Donnelley & Sons will also provide Williams-Sonoma with commercial printing, direct mail, labels and financial printing.

Last week, Williams-Sonoma reported that its first-quarter results topped analysts' estimates, as shoppers stepped up spending on housewares and furnishings both online and in stores.
