Wing Snob, Leo's Coney, Domino's among businesses coming to Frenchtown

FRENCHTOWN TWP. — Several new businesses, including restaurants and a physical therapy center, are opening soon at Frenchtown Plaza and beyond.

The new, six-acre plaza is on North Telegraph Road near Culver's. Work also continues on the township's new municipal complex and community center. All of the projects were announced last spring.

Wing Snob, a national chain with other Michigan locations, including Livonia and Taylor, will hold its grand opening at 12:30 p.m. May 3 at 1935 N. Telegraph Road. The restaurant will employ 10, said David Uhl, economic development director for Frenchtown Charter Township.

Wing Snob, according to its website, sells fresh, never frozen, boneless, traditional and cauliflower wings. It also offers several dipping sauces, sandwiches, sides and desserts. Another location is expected to open this summer in Toledo.

Panera Bread, which operated for years at 393 N. Telegraph Road, relocated to 1927 N. Telegraph Road in Frenchtown Plaza. A grand opening took place May 2. The new location offers a drive-thru.

Ivy Re-Hab, Leo's Coney and Domino's Pizza also are coming soon to Frenchtown Plaza, according to Uhl.

"One storefront is still available," he said.

Another business is coming to Frenchtown Township. Saltea Turtle will hold its grand opening at 10 a.m. May 6. The business is located at 3525 N. Dixie Highway, next to Tiffany's Pizza. It sells coffee, espresso, smoothies and specialty drinks, Uhl said.

Uhl said work is expected to wrap-up in October at the municipal complex and community center on 25 acres of land on Dixie Highway, near the entrance of the Detroit Beach community.

The complex will include a municipal building and police substation. The community center will be 20,000 square feet and will seat up to 580 people.
