Winona Ryder Will Star in a Netflix Supernatural Drama

Winona Ryder is headed to TV with a new project at Netflix.

She will star on the streaming service's untitled supernatural thriller that's also "a love letter to the '80s classics that captivated a generation," TV Line reports. The series was previously named Montauk.

On the '80s-set eight-episode series, a young boy vanishes into thin air. As friends, family and local police search for answers, they are drawn into a mystery involving top-secret government experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one very strange little girl. (Got enough ingredients for your plot?)

Ryder will play Joyce, the mother of the missing 2-year-old. In the quest to rescue her son, she summons a strength she never knew she had.

Matt and Ross Duffer (Wayward Pines) will write and direct all eight episodes of the series.

Ryder can be seen in HBO's upcoming miniseries Show Me a Hero.
