Wireless Network Watcher review

Wireless Network Watcher lets you monitor your network to make sure only authorized persons are using your connection.

Pros

Beep alerts: If you're particularly worried about network hijackers, you can configure the program to run in the background and beep if a new device joins your network.

Organizational features: You can show grid lines to view your data like a spreadsheet and also mark odd and even rows. This makes the readout much easier to decipher and would be very helpful in an organization where you could be monitoring large numbers of devices on a single network.

Cons

Unexplained items in interface: Some of the icons are very unclear, and you have to hover over them to understand why they are there. In addition, there is a small counter at the bottom of the screen that counts up and then eventually rests, with no indication as to why it is there.

No help: The help menu doesn't contain any information at all, just an About option that provides the software version.

Bottom Line

Wireless Network Watcher is a useful utility if you're trying to monitor a network with a large number of users or if you're nervous about unauthorized wireless traffic. However, the app is a little confusing and could benefit from better help and support.
