Wix.com announced a deal with the photo marketplace Bigstock that will make its library of more than 21 million images available to users of the Wix website builder for $2.99 a piece.

The deal is direct challenge to Wix’s closest competitor, Squarespace, which recently inked a photo licensing deal with Getty Images. That deal made Getty images available to Squarespace users for $10 a piece.

Although Getty photos are definitely at the top of the image game, it seems as though Wix is trying to undercut Squarespace on pricing.

"Our users need affordable, accessible and high-quality images to enrich their websites, and this partnership answers that need," said Nir Zohar, President and COO of Wix, in a statement. "The collaboration with Bigstock brings millions of professional grade images right to their fingertips, giving users yet another tool to create an online presence that looks exactly the way they want."

The deal also poses significant benefits to Bigstock contributors, as it opens up the photo marketplace to Wix’s more than 56 million users.
