Woman found dead on Scarborough beach

Feb. 22—A woman was found dead on a Scarborough beach on Monday.

The woman was found about 12:28 p.m. on the rocks by the shore near the Cliff Walk off Winslow Road in the Prouts Neck gated community, according to NBC affiliate News Center Maine.

Police say the woman was 37-year-old Helen Armide of Cape Elizabeth. Investigator's say Armide's vehicle was found parked on Harmon Street in Scarborough next to her family's seasonal home which was walking distance of the cliff walk, according to CBS 13.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner performed an autopsy Tuesday and determined that Armide drowned.

The results of toxicology tests are pending.
