Woman Who Lost 500 Lbs. Struggles with Weight Piling Back On: 'I Didn't Realize How Hard It Would Be When You Have Kids'

Four years ago, Melissa Morris was a success story.

After bypass surgery, she lost almost 500 lbs., dropping from 653 lbs. to just 157. But following two pregnancies and becoming a stay at home mom, Morris is back up to 275 lbs. and has dealt with depression.

"Before I lost the weight, I was miserable, and barely living life. And my dream was to have kids," Morris says in this exclusive clip from Wednesday's episode of My 600-lb Life: Where Are They Now?.

But the reality of her new life wasn't the perfect ending she wanted.

"I was happy to be a mom, but I was depressed because of everything I needed to give up. I didn't expect how much my world would change being a mom, and the struggles that would bring."

"After having Eli, my husband and I decided that he would be the one that worked, and I would stay home and be the one that raised our children. But I missed my job, and I missed being able to go out."

Now, with another baby on the way, Morris is raising her daughter Alana and son Eli, along with her niece and nephew, which means constantly cooking their meals.

"I didn't realize how hard it was going to be when you have kids and have food for them around you all day long," Morris says. "It's hard to stick to a diet."

Her goal now is to get back down to 150 lbs. and lose the 100 lbs. she gained while pregnant with Eli, and the 20 lbs. she added with Alana.

"I could tell you this whole journey was easy, but that would be a lie," Morris says. "But it wouldn't be a lie to tell you it was worth it."
