BURBANK, Calif., Feb. 11, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Woodbury University today announced the appointment of David P. Dauwalder, Ph.D., as executive vice president and provost, effective April 1.
Dr. Dauwalder will act as the chief operating officer of Woodbury, leading the university's academic enterprise and helping to visualize and refine academic priorities. He is currently provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at the University of New Haven, West Haven, Connecticut, where he has been since 2006. He also served as provost and vice president for academic affairs at California State University, Stanislaus and Central Washington University.

Dauwalder earned a Ph.D. in secondary education and master of arts in education from Arizona State University. He completed a bachelor's degree in education from Northern Arizona University.
