World Bank protest highlights China reform tension

BEIJING (AP) — A protester has disrupted a news conference by World Bank president Robert Zoellick, highlighting tensions over the bank's recommendation for Beijing to reduce the dominance of government-owned companies.

Zoellick had just begun speaking at the event Tuesday in the bank's Beijing office when a Chinese man stood up and shouted slogans including, "State-owned industry should not be privatized!" He handed out leaflets criticizing the proposed changes before bank staff ushered him out.

Zoellick said the recommendations in a report released Monday by the bank and a Chinese Cabinet think tank have provoked "intense debate" in China. He said they were likely to provoke opposition.

The report calls for sweeping changes to keep growth on track and raise incomes.

We have it within our control to put tariffs on businesses that import products made by slave labor.

They want to make it privatized so Rockefeller or Rothschild can buy it. As much as I like private enterprise and what not I think it is a bad idea for China to hand over its banking to these criminals

They the "international Banking Cartel" want to infiltrate China so they can ruin that country and put the Dragon under massive debt. The World Bank, IMF, BiS and every Central Bank like our Fed are the biggest scam going right now. China would destroy itself making deals with these Criminals.

If these Authoritarian Sluts weren't around there would be alot less turmoil in the World.

China's abysmal "human rights" record at home makes their words irrelevant abroad.

First, they won't allow Tibetans to have pictures of the Dalai Lama, Yet, have a giant picture of their "Saintly" Mao in Tiananmen Square. This man killed millions of his own people, as many as Hitler and Stalin! Yet, as Russia and Europe set the history books straight who these mass murderers were! China continues to court 20th century oppressors such as Hitler, Stalin and Mao ideology. As well as deny the Tiananmen Squ. protest and tragedy existed.

As the World stands by with their head up their butts! The near Genocide of the Tibetans will also be on China's list of atrocities!

China is the home of the Self-avowed Racist Han..

.For 50 yrs these soul-less monsters intentionally murdered, raped and tortured MORE Tibetan woman (Martyrs) in prisons that all Muslim countries combined. The genocide of the Tibetans is well documented.

Tibetans were in the process of Democratic change before China invaded Tibet. China then makes up a fable that they saved Tibet from Themselves, and it was there land.

Ask any poor woman in China if they are happy! Tibetans can ask for asylum in any country outside racist China. Yet the Chinese use woman as a commodity of repression

I don't know a Tibetan who doesn't hate all "Naive Chinese". They Chinese fabricate lies as an excuse to plunder the mineral wealth and control the land mass. There is no diplomacy for Tibetans as the government the China keeps demonizing their Spiritual belief and the Dalai Lama.

The Chinese are manipulating their currency to cheat on trade agreements. Get an education.

Free market in Europe. Europe bankrupted. Free market in America, USA. USA bankrupted! Free market in Africa. All state runned companies sold at bargain prices to American and European companies, and Africa bankrupted!
Let's hope China will not fall into the trap of free market, the Trojan Horse of wild capitalism/liberalism from America and Europe.

China should not privatize their industry or their recources, is made by the people of China for the people people of China.

Bombing, invading and mendle in other countries because you have a big stick is not fair by default. There is no such thing as a free market to start with.

This planet does not belong to the west, never did and never will be.

If you capitalists do not like it you can always move to another planet, try Mars. Better try another galaxy alltogether.

      Long live China

For those who still say China has 3 trillions in reserve ... its not anymore. The government used some to pass throught the crisis and help the banks for a while.. now its just 2,1 trillions.

Nothing prevents China from opening its own "World Bank" and lending it's own money to 3rd world nations that it sees fit to loan money to.

OMG - Yahoo actually is WRITING about the Chinese World Takeover, after economists and people "in-the-know" the world over, as well as the less mainstream news and academic publications, have been crying over the roof tops for years now. Everybody, get ready for the new international monetary unit to be based on gold, and YUANS, and for life as we now know it to cease to exist!

The Chinese know squat about true capitalism since the communists took over and they are not dealing fairly with the world markets. If the World Bank and the free markets cannot make them change their greedy commie ways, the only thing to do is raise sanctions and taxes against all of their goods.
