The 12-day Cannes Film Festival event is just as much about the fashion as it is about the films. All eyes are on what the celebs are wearing and although they show up hoping to rock the red carpet, many fail in their attempt. It's all about the fashion risks, but some should have went with a different ensemble. So who were some of the worst dressed celebs that walked the red carpet during the last half of the 2012 Cannes Film Festival?
Sonam Kapoor
The actress wore a dark Alexander McQueen gown to the premiere of "Therese Desqueyroux" and just couldn't make it work. The gown had a nude underlay on the bottom, an embellished lace bodice and sheer black fabric from top-to-bottom including a high neckline and long sleeves. The dress would have looked much better without all that sheer fabric on the top. She also wore red lipstick, but the ensemble would have looked at least a tad better with light colored lipstick.
Natasha Poly
The Cannes Film Festival is an event where celebs dress in classy high fashion and unfortunately the model missed the memo. Had she gone to a less formal affair the dress would have been fine, but the bright red Roberto Cavalli gown with cutout side panels and a plunging neckline wasn't appropriate at all for the event. She also went with bright red lipstick which just looked way too harsh with the rest of the outfit.
Elodie Bouchez
We'd really like to love the actress in this dress but it's just not happening; it doesn't look right on her. The short sleeve ivory Chanel gown had black tulle strips at the bottom and maybe it would have worked had it not been for how she completed the look. She wore red lipstick, blue nailpolish on her fingers, black nailpolish on her toes and her hair was pulled over to one side. She's capable of so much more.
Kristen Stewart
The actress pulled off two fabulous looks during the last half of the 2012 Cannes Film Festival but had a misstep at the "On the Road" photo call. She wore yellow slim-fit Balenciaga pants that had a blue print on them, black pumps, a black blazer and a white shirt. The pieces are great individually, but all together it just looks a mess. The pants don't seem to fit her properly, the pumps don't look right with the pants and the shirt looks absolutely wrong with the entire outfit. The best thing about her look was her hair.
Kylie Minogue
Yet another celeb who was one of the best dressed during the last half of the 2012 Cannes Film Festival then also worked her way onto the worst dressed list. She wore a Emilio Pucci dress w hile attending the "Holy Motors" photo call. Although it's only a photo call and not a premiere which allows for a toned down look, the dress was just boring. The short green dress had a center leg slit, a peplum and a black matte triangular panel in the front. She finished the look with pink nails and black heels. Not only was the color bland but the style was all wrong. So disappointing.
